Sometimes finding an event venue hire Melbourne is really stressful because we always want our event to be successful. Are you planning the event of the year but don’t know where you want to host it. Your possibilities are endless when it comes to where to host an event so don’t limit yourself. Here are some ideas to get your creative juices flowing.
My first suggestion would be a banquet hall. One of the most commonly used venues banquet halls offer the freedom of much personal creativity. The average banquet hall’s ambiance is usually pretty simple and plain requiring some imagination on your part to make it your own. Consider it a blank canvas that you can use to create your own stylistic masterpiece. The good thing is they are typically cost efficient and offer some pretty hassle free wedding packages. The managers and coordinators of the facility usually have tons of wedding experience making them an invaluable resource. The bad thing is that sometimes the event can look mass produced and it is possible that there may be multiple events held per day which can have an affect on your start and end times.
Hotels and resorts tend to be my favorite venues to work with because they provide everything in one location, making it super easy for you and your guests. Depending on the location and time of year amenities, ambiance and cost vary greatly depending on the hotel or resort. The good side to using this style of venue is that it offers onsite accommodations and added amenities such as concierge service, shuttles, spas etc. Typically they are also in proximity to airports and other vacation destinations so guest can feel free to enjoy activities on days before or after your event. They also offer low or no rental fees, the major costs tend to come in when you select how many guests and the menu items. However the bad side is that the cuisine and hotel ballrooms set up can be somewhat generic. Also, if you are not using the full ballroom the dividers provided may be unappealing and unsightly. You also run may into problem with lack of privacy since larger hotels tend to be busy and host multiple events at once.
Country Clubs are another great option for events during any time of the year. You can utilize both the interior and exterior areas of the property. The interior areas may vary from place to place, but the grounds will almost always be a pleasant option including lakes, golf courses, marinas and the list goes on according to where you are located. Some country clubs are limited to renting their facility to members only so keep that in mind when visiting locations. The good side to country clubs is that golf and other activities may be available for guests before, during or after your event. They also offer great outdoor photo opportunities. The bad side of country clubs are that the facilities typically do not completely evacuate the area for your event so there may be members still on site that day. Also the food may be average or limited sometimes not allowing outside caterers.
Hosting an event at a local restaurants is also an option and offers a simple and convenient location. Most restaurants have experience hosting large functions so planning is relatively painless. If you’ve got a certain look and price range in mind, more than likely you can find a restaurant that fits your needs. Restaurants are great because usually their food good because it is their specialty. The rooms are also already fully decorated adding a little spunk to your event for free. The downside to using this venue is that the space tends to be very limitations in terms of amount of guests and other vendors that can fit. You will need to make sure the space can fit a dance floor and band or DJ if your event will be including that form of entertainment. There is also the potential for a lack of privacy since more then likely the restaurant will remain open for their usual guests.
You should also consider using local mansions or historic houses if budget is not too much of a concern. These venues are very picturesque, but expect to allocate more effort and budget for this luxury. You will get impressive architecture and manicured grounds that will provide a distinctive setting. These venues tend to host only one event at a time so you will more then likey have a very private event. The bad side to this type of venue is that they have higher rental fees and the space is limited. There may be no large ballroom, and your party may have to split into smaller rooms or some aspects may have to take place outside.
Many events are being held at libraries and museums because your guests won’t soon forget this setting it is different unique and is already loaded with items to entertain guests. This type of venue offers distinctive architecture and cultural ambiance. They may be different exhibitions on display which add an element of entertainment. The bad side to this venue though is that there are usually higher rental fees and it is a public government space which can mean there are potentially restrictive rules and hours. They also often very little to no coordinating assistance so hiring a planner for an event like this is key.
The last event venue I have to offer are public parks, gardens and beaches. While they may seem easy, these venues actual take the most work and funds then any other type. Everything you need must be rented, from tables and chairs to portable restroom facilities and dance floors. These areas are great because they solve decorating dilemmas when Mother Nature does the work for you and the natural setting complements relaxed events. The bas side is that you may need to obtain necessary permits and most areas have many restrictions. You may also have to tend with outdoor disturbances such as insects, dirt, mud, allergies, noises, temperature. You also need to be sure you have a plan B just in case of inclement weather
